Hunter the blue bar ambilobe

Just remember that a veiled and a panther thrive in different temps. Your veiled looks great and is doing fine in direct sunlight. If your gonna keep a panther outside he cant be in direct sunlight unless you have some serious misting going on; and even then it will probly still be to hot. 90 is just way to hot for direct sunlight. You will love the panther your getting. As soon as I opened the box he jumped right in his cage, drank for 20-30 min and immediately ate 10 crickets. Mike keeps his chams super healthy and packs them perfectly.

Actually outside during the day right now is too hot for a baby veiled. Currently I keep his cage 85-72 degrees f.

As long as it doesn't get over 90 your veiled should be fine bro. 12 hours of sunlight would be pretty hot but as long as you have a lot of water on him he will make it. Guaranteed. They are already reproducing in the wild down there.

There is a link around here somewhere.. check it out.

well you should have more foliage for him so he can have shade if he wants... if he is exposed to 12 hours of direct sunlight with insufficient water he will die. veiled's can survive temps up to 95 maybe even higher.

edit: Im not talking about baby's either, Im talking about adults

I thought you meant babies because you said mine would be fine outside, and mine's a baby. Sorry if I misunderstood you. And I have his cage filled to the max right now with schefflera (16x16x30 cage i believe). also had him in the shade outside with access but not in direct sunlight. Even in the shade of the plants temps were still very high.

I finally found some calcium without d3.. Anyways my cham comes tom and I cant wait. The only thing im concerned about is my current cage i tnink is only 2x2x2? He wont be staying in that cage for to long probly just a few days.. but do you guys think he will be ok? I thought it might be to small..

This size cage will be fine until he is around 6 months old. He will let you know when you need to upgrade. they will usually start pacing and looking as if he wants out.

How do you like the schefflera? I was about to buy one but I got a ficus to start with. Are they easy to take care of?

Per my experience Schefflera is very easy to take care of. I'm getting either a ficus or hibiscus in addition to my schefflera when my cham goes to his big cage in a few months. More the merrier. Also my cham doesn't really like climbing the scheffleras, seems to prefer using his artificial branches and/or the screen itself.
