Hungry or just thirsty?

Lately after spraying my chams cage he has been shooting his tongue out like he is trying to eat the drop of water or thinks it is food instead of just licking the leaf is this normal? , do any of your chameleons do this??

Mine did that when he was younger. Now he just licks (and chews) the dripper tube.
