Hi, all.
Currently I'm having some issues keeping the humidity up in Claudia's cage. I had everything down to an exact science until this week, when summer finally decided to make an appearance, and now things are all off because of how warm it gets in the room Claudia is kept in. I'm misting down her cage almost constantly just to get the RH to 50% because it's all drying up so quickly.
I have a dripper going and do have an auto-misting system, so I guess my question is, should I bump up how often that turns on and the length of time it sprays? Currently it's set at every 2 hours for 16 seconds. Maybe if I bumped it up to every hour, 30-60 seconds, that'd be better? Or maybe I should run to the store and pick up a humidifier (I had a fogger machine but she was absolutely terrified of it so I sent it back)?
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, female, between 4-6 months old according to the vet.
Handling - I rarely handle her.
Feeding - 7-10 crickets per-day, dusted with calcium daily (d3 and multi-vitamin twice a month), occasional superworms and hornworms as treats.
Watering - Auto-mister set to 16 seconds every 2 hours, hand mister if needed, and a dripper.
Fecal Description - Just had a fecal exam at her vet checkup a week and a half ago, all clear. All looks good, just did a spot cleaning before coming to the forum. Not runny, no undigested food, good size.
History - No previous history on her.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen Cage 18 x 18 x36
Temperature - Lower level is 75, basking spot is 85.
Humidity - Constantly fluctuating through the day, which is the issue. If I don't keep up with misting or keep an eye on it, it can get down to 20%. As long as I keep an eye on it, I can keep it in the upper 60% range.
Plants - 3 live plants. 2 hibiscus, one money tree.
Placement - My office.
Location - Northeast Ohio
