i have a female veiled in a all mesh cage and i have been having a problem with humidity. i mist twice before i go to school and about two to three times when i get back... and wen i leev i turn on my fogger but the humidity always seems to get pretty low wen i am gone for long periods of time, low 40's... My parents arent going to spend a bunch of money on an automatic mister, after all of the money we have spent on her already...but what are some good ways i could keep humidity up??? Any suggestions?

Having live plants in the enclosure really helps too. Especially full, leafy plants with hearty stalks (for climbing). Check out the list of live plants. I picked up a dwarf umbrella plant, dracaena and pothos at my local Lowes for dirt cheap. Make sure you wash a re-pot them with organic soil.

what they said, you could cover 2 or even 3 sides of the cage. And the addition of plant makes a big difference. Is your fogger running constantly? A humidifier set on a timer works better, I think. Could be a problem if you have a mesh cage inside your house though. Watch for water buildup.
Make sure when it comes time you give her a spot to lay eggs.
Good luck

Low 40's is fine for a veiled, as long as it's not for more than a few hours a day. Try to invest in a humidifier, run it for an hour before you leave for school, should kick the humidity up to 80% or so and stay up there for a few hours.

well my fogger is a humidifier/ fogger... it is zoomeds repti fogger... ill try the whole hour pefore school thing. Thanks for the suggestions!

I use a regular humidifer, I run it for 2 hours in the morning on a very low setting, gets the enclosure all nice and foggy before I go to bed (I work overnight).

You could always try using a shower curtain inside the enlcosure, block off 1-2 sides which will help too, but it will cut down on airflow.

Covering the back three sides will not give the cage bad airflow, not with the front and top open, and it should keep it nice and humid for longer. Any plastic sheet will work just fine.
