in my panther chameleon setup im misting which gets up to 91% then after 1 1/2hrs its dropped down to 25%.then after 20mins it goes up to around 28%

the panther cham is roughly 2-3 months and basking is between 27 and 28 celcius

is this ok?

It is good to have a drop in humidity between mistings but that drop sounds too low. How often do you mist or how long is it at 20 or 28 % before misting again? You may have to invest in a cool mist humidifier. The work good for leveling humidity problems out.

Wow, 25% is waaaaaaaaay to low. You should create a more stable environment. Do you have a bottom of soil and real plants? This would probably help a lot, since they hold a lot of moisture. But I'm also guessing the room around the cage is super dry. You could try to increase that room's humididy level as well.

at 9.15am before i left to collect him i misted the viv and it went up to 81% plus i had just turnt off the heating.
when i returned home at 11.50 the humidity dropped to 37%
could the heating in my house make it drop as the viv is next to a radiator?

well the humidity dropped down to 25% for about 10 mins then upped to 28% and stayed there for about 2hrs.

now i have removed the stones i have in the 2 plant pots as i was advised to and misted again.it got up to 88% and has stayed at 88% for the last 35mins which is good
also i have no heating on whats going on??

If I were you, you may want to set up a misting schedule through a timer if you have a mister, that way you can keep it consistent throughout the day. The huge drop shouldn't be happening though. Maybe get some live plants, that will definitely help and keep the humidity right and consistent like you need. Also if it is cold and dry where you live that may be impacting it a lot.

Hmm then to me at least that is pretty strange that your humidity keeps dropping like that. Do you hand mist? And what is the weather like?

I would honestly try to mist for about 5 minutes every time, it seems like overkill but it gives more moisture to the enclosure and will last longer. But you want to give it time to dry out between mistings. If your hand isn't cramping you're not doing it right! lol :D Yeah the dry cold temperature may not be helping that much if your house it drafty.

ok i will try 5mins
do i quickly mist or slowly mist

well its at 43% and i misted 1hr and 10mins ago but only for 1min but its kind of settling this time.

should i have the dripper running allday?

i will mist again once it has dried out and ill see how it goes.

I would have to agree Timmerman, maybe uping the basking temp a few degrees so around 33 celcius and see how that fares for you.

33 hes only 2months old?

its stayed between 43-42% for the last 25mins so if i mist for longer next time hopefully it will last longer

You said 3-4 months previously... I may be mistaken... But Yeah 30-33 I would guess. Just because with it being cold in your house the more heat won't feel as powerful because of the draftiness of your home. And yea I believe if you take more time misting and make sure you cover the entire cage you'll be better off. Maybe consider getting an automated mister such as an mist king.

i have noticed he is basking directly under the mesh on a plant
no i did say 2-3 months
well its staying at 41% and i have turned up the basking bulb a little
