Huey (Panther Chameleon)

Got my baby panther chameleon few weeks ago. I am excited because I've always wanted a panther since I had Karma, a Veiled Chameleon who is about 15 months old now.

The shop owner was quite positive that Huey is a male and is either an ambilobe or sambava locale. It seems to be have settled in, eating and defecating well. Just took some photos of him this morning, I am assuming him to be about 3 months old at this stage.

Cuteness overload!

Its hard to confirm the sex, and impossible to confirm the locale, but you have an adorable little baby there. I would guess 6 to 8 weeks though.

Keep us posted on his progress as he grows up

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Shall then assume Huey to be 2 months old.

May I ask what does it mean by the numbers beside the name of the pets in some of your signatures, especially when there is a decimal like 1.1 Ambilobe or 1.0 Nosy Be?

I also have a veiled and also have been wanting to get a panther for quite a while, hope to do it in near future

The numbers are used to indicate the amount and sex of the owned species/locales. 1.0 - means a male, 0.1 - means a female, 1.1 - would therefore mean a male-female pare, 2.1 - two males, one female, and so on
In your case it would be: veiled (1.0), panther (1.0), or maybe 0.1 - too early to say

Most sambavas have a U shaped middle bar but not always ,I'm guessing e would be more ambilobe .That is only a guess, either way congrats on your new boy!

It has been a few months. Huey was eating very very little for a period of time and his growth was stunted. I bought a female panther who was smaller than him then and she is now twice his current size. In the last 2 months, he regained his appetite and began to eat a lot. Now I can see his growth over the weeks. However I will have to wait for a few more months before his colours appear.
