Doing some research on lighting. Ya think a 150 watt 6400 kelvin hqi metal halide would meet all the requirements? Compared to a mv?

I've used HQI lighting in aquariums.

I know they produce quite a lot of ultraviolet light even UVc which is very dangerous. Most utilize glass lenses that drastically cut the UV output.

They also use put out quite a lot of heat.

I would only use them if I owned a UV meter.

I've used them in aquariums as well and are great for growing coral. Just thinking these are the closest replication to sunlight. I agree with the uv meter. Thanx for feedback

HQI are the best! Just make sure to use the glass shield, like others have mentioned. An hqi bulb with just one fluorescent for UV would be perfect lighting for a large cage.
