How well do Dragon Ledges work with DIY cages?

I want to get Dragon ledges for my cage but don't known how well they work with A DIY cages. Anyone who has the dragon ledges in a DIY cage could you give me some input on how well they fit in the cages

I do not have a DIY cage, but I noticed that Dragon Strand has several ledge options for DIY cages with 16", 18", or 24" sides. That being said, I imagine that these are measured and cut specifically for DIY cages to ensure a correct fit.
*When I purchased my set, I asked for something that was a little customized to my cage which is wider than it is deep. Bill made sure that what I was asking for would fit correctly before selling it.

The set I have fits very well. There is no overhang on any of the cage sides. On the interior of the cage, the ledge itself is about 12" long. This is the case no matter what the width of the cage side is. On the exterior of the cage, the back support is the length of the side of the cage you order it for. There is also a spacer piece on the exterior. This is the same length as the ledge itself, 12". The spacer ensures there will be no pressure on the screen itself.

I am very happy with these ledges and they are very, very sturdy! Hopefully someone with a DIY cage has tried them and can give you their thoughts too.

Bill is a driven perfectionist, I would trust his kits for DIY-brand cages are 100% correct.

If they were not, he would fix it, working with Dragon Strand is a no-risk business deal.

CHEERS!

Bill at Dragon Strand actually had leges made to fit something like five different brands of screen cages... kinda crazy imo. However it means his ledges will fit your DIY cage.

I own a DS cage, love it.

Dragon Ledges

BigDogthe1st,
Have no fear. I purchased a round of different sizes of the different cage brands, including DIY, specifically to make sure the Ledges fit properly. In fact, the different sizes were designed by directly measuring the different cage brands.

I hope DIY is no longer using steel screen in their cages, I am in the middle of re-screening three of them due to rust.

As the others have said, Bill is a stand up guy and is great about his products.

To make it clear I meant a homemade cage. The cage is 24" 24" if that helps

Ah, a real DIY cage! The only part you have to worry about is the pre-drilled screw holes for the back support which is installed on the outside of the cage. To figure out the length of Dragon Ledge to order you measure the outside width of your panel. You measure from one end of panel to the other end. This is your ledge length.
Next you need to make sure there is enough frame room to screw in the back support. Below is an image that shows the ledge close up and where the mounting holes are. This can be into aluminum frame or wood. The included screws are meant for aluminum frame. If you are going into wood then just get a washer and some wood screws.
