How to transport my chameleon's

I'm taking my chameleon's to the vet on Thursday for a routine checkup and the best reptile vet in my area is a 45 minute drive away. What is the best way to transport them in my car?

You can use a large cricket keeper with sticks, put it in a box and cover it with crumpled newspaper if it's cold, plus it keeps them calmer. Not too much though they need to breath.

A few people recommend keeping it dark too, then they sleep through the trip and don't get too stressed. My vet is close, but I still wrapped my chameleon's box (I used a plastic shoe storage box, lid wasn't airtight) in a dark scarf.

i understand your problem, our lizard vet is about 50minutes away. take a large cricket house (what ever you call the thing that you put crickets in) have a tiny bit of the stuff you use for the ground in the cage, and put the lizard in it, and there you have it a champorter (get it? instead of transporter its champorter  )

I wouldn't put anything on the bottom of your cage, newspaper falls apart easily, dirt molds, and substrate can be swallowed and impact your chameleon.

I put fabric on my passenger side headrest and he usually just chills there looking out the window.

I'll be driving by myself. The male usually hangs out and sleeps on his jungle vine and the female usually hangs out on a jungle vine and sleeps in a ficus.

If it's just you then I would put him in a small cage. The first few times that I rode my guys my husband drove and I kept a close eye on them. We also took short trip first to see how each one would do before any long trips.

The male is about 4 months and the female looks about 3 months.

Young ones tend to roam more than older ones. I'd be afraid they would get off the tree while you are driving. Unless you have someone to go with you and watch them I would not allow them to free range to the vets this time.

ya watch out for young ones, my senegal took off into the sun visor the other day on our trip to the vet. but my boyfriend grabbed her up. it was funny. :D
