Help me out with the color changes? If a veil shows his/her normal green coloration is that a sign of stress.Mine changes on a daily basis, when i first bought it he/she was just the normal light green. Now he is showing more of its color stripes more or less.In other words i am asking what should a normal healthy veil look like? Young one of course about 5 body inches. Thanks for the help.

If you want to see some healthy looking veileds take a look in the photography section of the forums.

Generally speaking though darker colours tend to represent stress, but it could also represent wrong temperatures (too cold).

If your really worried post some pictures of your cham and fill out the "How to ask for help sheet" in the health clinic section.

first off you can tell the sex for looking for little bumps or "spurs" on the back of his/ her feet. males have a striped pattern consisting of 3 stripes per side...and females usualy have a spotted pattern for vields...if it is a female then you will have to do research about egg laying. dark spotting or dark highlighted colors while handeling or messing around in the cage is stress....the normal green color means content and not stressed....its normale for chameleons to get a darker color while basking to take in more heat.

It sounds like your baby boy is growing up to me. Congrats! He's getting his stripes!
