how to prepare/store gutload?

so with my birthday money i went and got abunch of greens, veggies, fruits, and seeds for agood gutload. so i am wondering how to go about preparing it to store so it doesn't go bad. should i make smoothies and freeze it? what about dehydrating? i dont have a dehydrator so that may take a while. thoughts?

Probably not. If it wont blend, then yes you may have to add water, but otherwise no.

depends on what you bought. for example, some seeds go rancid faster once ground up.
many people blend fruit and veg then freeze. but I prefer to use different fresh ingredients daily, rather than the same mixed thing daily.

I bought sesame seeds and poppy seeds and I got them whole. I also got romaine, dandelion, green beans, papaya, limes, and oranges. I made 2 different mixtures, one with dandelion, green beans, and oranges; the other with romaine, papaya, and lime. I did have to add a tiny bit of water though to get it to blend and not fry my blender  I have a small platter in each tank and put a small pile of sesame and a larger pile of poppy, then 1 ice cube each of just one mixture so I can switch it up daily. is it okay just to put the ice cube in there and let it melt on it's own?

I've never tried. In my experience, the thawing cube creates a lot of water (you've basically freeze dried your fruits and veggies...). I thaw on a paper towel, then put it in the keepr. I suppose you could put it on a paper towel to thaw in the keeper....but I wonder if they might not decide it's "not food" because it was too cold when you put it in so not go back to it? I don't know how their little minds work...

Yeah I am going to try the paper towel thing because there were 2 little ones stuck in the juice this morning

I just did this! I filled up 3 ice cube trays with the following items blended to a nasty, yet sweet smelling pulp.

-Leaf lettuce
-Collard greens
-Mustard greens
-Red bell pepper
-Yellow bell pepper
-Green bell pepper
-Sweet Potato
-Apple
-Orange
-Carrot
-Oats
-A small amount of water to thin out the consistency.

All leftovers went into an area to feed a wild rabbit that comes in our backyard, and into our compost bin.

Look good?
