Just get rid of them quickly when they do die.
i used to raise silkworms for science fairs a really cheap way to house the worms is to use those boxes that In-N-Out gives you with the fries and burgers in them (do you know what im talking about?) and put like two handfuls of mulberry leaves in there, and if you live in socal you can go shake the silkworms off the mulberry trees basically free! well....besides the In-N-Out
well when i was like 6, i would go to a mulberry tree and pick the leaves, and the silkworms would be on the leaves and i would feed them and let them spin when they got old enough, then they become moths and i would let em go
hey you know where claremont is! woohoo but yes, i used to go around claremont and shake the worms off the trees why is everyone getting all excited about this?
edit: im not sure, because i hear rumors about people who bought silkworms, and released them on the mulberry trees here to establish a population but theres a chance they could still be wild
