How to introduce Hand feeding

Just got a baby veil! So awesome!!!! Trying to do a lot of research on advantages of hand feeding and allowing the chameleons to associate human interaction with feeding to decrease looking so much like a threat . So this morning at feeding time I put the crickets in cage one by one close to the little guy. He tried to run first thing but the cricket caught his attention. I got to sit back and watch him pluck a couple off for the first time. Just trying to see how anyone may have started hand feeding.

Yup. What Chameleomom said. Give him some time to settle in (at least two weeks) and then start very slow by just sitting by his enclosure. Hand feeding takes A LOT of trust, time, and patience. Took 4.5 months before my chameleon hand fed from me. Here is a video with some tips and tricks when the time comes:

My veil is not as afraid of me now when I use yellow forceps and put crickets of superworms on screen near him. He will hiss some times and open mouth.
