Hi, this is my first post in the chameleon forums !

I like to know the answers to all these Qs:

How To DIY Vesseled Sealed Canisters Of Mealworms & Crickets As Munchies For Herps ??

So, From Culling Them To Proccess Them To Vesselling Them Out Into Of The Small Metallic Canisters !!

You know, there are in the pet stores cans of munchies for the herps in form of flavored mealworms, crickets, etc.

I am very interested in to know the "know how" of all this proccess.

Actually i don´t have herps, but i had haved lizzards as are skinks, anoles, and snakes as are garter snakes. Very soon i will buy a few of leopard geckoes and corn snakes. Maybe a pair of chameleons too.

Thank you very much in advance for your help !!

Hi
I cant tell you how to make those containers, though dehydrating insects is fairly easy.

Put the crickets or mealworms in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer until they are dead but not frozen. Fifteen minutes or so should be sufficient. Then take them out and rinse them under warm water. Cricket's heads, hind legs, and wing cases can be removed according to personal preference. Spread your cleaned insects out on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Heat over to 200 degrees F and dry insects for approximately 1-3 hours, until they are brittle and crush easily. (or use a dehydrator). Sprinkle on seasoning if desired.
To use as flour in recipies, Put the dried bugs into a coffee bean or spice grinder, and grind them till they are about consistency of wheat germ. Use in practically any recipe! Here are some: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/114-insect-recipies-entomophagy.html

However, chameleons will (should) only eat LIVE bugs.

Hi Sandra, thank you so much for your comments. All your recipes are great !!

This recipe for to dry the insects is a very good one for apply it on this task !!

You do know the recipe & formula for to make the "medium" that involves the dried vesseled insects ?? or where can i read this sort of information ??

You know, the canisters have named a some compounds of the formula as flavours and preservers, but also i am looking for the "know how" (the recipe) about the quantities and the times for to add and mix the compounds.

All that for to obtain died but juice insects that have a good flavour and oddor attractive enought for the reptiles, and ables for to be keeped well for a long time while the vessel still unnopened. Thank you, regards !! Roberto.
