How to clean live plants

I am expecting to get a baby panther chameleon next week (cant wait!!) and I really want to put a few live plants in the enclosure. I'm thinking of putting a pothos and an umbrella tree in, but I want to make sure there are no parasites or bad things on them that will harm my chameleon. I was just wondering what to do with the plants when i buy them (probably from walmart) before I put them in the enclosure. Thanks!

Wash the leaves with soapy water and rinse rinse rinse. Then re-pot them in organic fertilizer and perlite free soil then cover the soil with either screen or river rocks that are too large for the chameleon to eat.
