U need a reptarium, and you need sexed moths, you want an equal ammount of males as females as the extra moths that dont breed will die. Its hard to breed hornworms and u need multiple large reptariums to do so
So just going to buy them then. THanks! lol.
I already have a cricket colony going, starting a lobster roach colony soon (i hope) and have two free ranging chams. not worth it.
im sure you know what you are doing. But why Lobster roaches?
All that i keep hearing is that they can climb any and everything!!
yes they can climb, but they stay smaller than dubias. I dont really want 2 inch long roaches in my house.
i dont want roaches at all. however, i need to start varying my chams diet more so he doenst go on a hunger strike.
point made, lol
I find it sort of ironic, that nobody WANTS roaches in their house. Yet many of us cham owners INTENTIONALLY bring them in,and we INTENTIONALLY breed them
I guess anything for the love of your animals (ie: Cham CPR!!)
i do all feeders except roaches..i just personally hate them, i give my chams everything else (have horns, and silkies right now for them)..![]()

i personally can NOT handle horned or silk worms. Childhood phobia of inchworms (and they just look like large inchworms, especially Hornworms)
My wife will NOT allow a roach in the house, i sneek some in though. Shhhh!
The dubia and lobster roaches really aren't a big deal. They really are a far superior feeder versus crickets. No smell, little mess, easy to breed and in the end, won't cost you money once the colony is established. I was a little apprehensive when i ordered the dubia for the first time but I just think of them as large rolley-polleys. Now I have no fear or hesitation to them what so ever and think they are pretty neat to watch plus their nutritional value is worth it.

yea, Male rolley-polleys don't have wings , lol
Ive actually never tried horned or silks. Horns grow to fast, and my cham is just now old enough to eat them.
and silks, well just didnt feel like it.
I wont tell if you dont tel my hubby im getting another cham tomorrow morning.. deal?
Deal. I'm working on getting another next year. My wife has taken to the Cham really well though. She actually takes care of him while i'm at work, and give me live updates.
haha. I knew that much. I have to get an enclosure going though.
