How to administer medication?

Any advice on administering liquid, oral medication to a cham that doesn't like much handling? I can get him on my hand, but that's only if lured by a superworm...otherwise touching is off limits.

I need to start him on medication for parasites in a few days and need some advice about how to administer the meds to a guy that doesn't even like much handling? I know if i stand there with a dropper in front of his face he will bolt for the opposite corner of the cage..should i get him to gape and then try and drop the medicine in?

another thought I had was to wait until lights out, when he cools down and trying to administer it then. anyone have success with this? will they swallow it this way? I'm open to any technique that works.

Thanks in advance.

Inject the worm with the meds and then feed him the worm right away before the meds kill the worm and make sure he's hungry. What kind of meds are you giving him?

Yes, just pick a good size worm. Do you know how to clean everything for coccidia?

thanks jannb. I guess my next step is finding a syringe to inject the worms? where might I go about finding one of those?

Cleaning: well I know this is of the utmost importance with coccidia.

My plan:
new plants and furnishings
disassemble cage panels (normal screen cage -- not too hard to do) and soak in either a bleach or peroxide solution. (thoughts on this and the strength to use are much appreciated--there's a lot of variation out there on strengths etc--so if anyone has been successful with a method please let me know!)
Pressure wash cage VERY well after the soak
put in new plants and furnishings
use newspaper on the bottom of the cage to catch droppings until fecals come up clean..

other tips and advice?

you can also try holding a superworm in one hand and while hes fixated and ready to shoot, drop some medication on his tounge real quick. ive done this with my cham but you have to be quick and sneaky!!

Clean EVERYTHING once a week with 40 volume peroxide the kind you buy at a beauty supply store.

A Syringe might have to come from your vet. You can try the drug store.

Ok for the peroxide do you just wipe it down or soak? hmm just called Sally's Beauty Supply and they don't carry it... hopefully i can find it somewhere.. I should ask for "40 volume peroxide" right?

edit: just found the peroxide somewhere. nice.

Spray everything and let it set for about 30 minutes....you'll see it foam.......they rinse well. I cleaned all plants (live and fake) all branches everything once a week and some of my plants survived.
