How should I handle?

How should I handle and approach my veiled chameleon? The only way I can do it is with my red construction gloves on.. If they are off, forget it, she hisses, flattens up, and tries to bite me. But sometimes with my gloves on she does the same thing... Plus, the way I have my enclosure set up, is pretty hard for me to get my hands in and get her... I need to get her sometimes, so I can clean the enclosure and stuff like that. Does anybody have any tips or suggestions?

yes. Trying putting a tall potted plant outside the cage door and open the door. See if you can get her to climb on the plant. Alot of chameleons are more approachable when outside of their cages. It might take a little time for her to get the nerve to venture out or she might take to it right away. Maybe she does not like the red gloves. Try green garden gloves.

Hand feeding, or at least feeding with the hand in view. The more her daily involves the view of the hand the better. For lizards that cant be handled ive done odd things like 100% tong feeding (again that evil hand is always in site) or placed the tank in high traffic areas like the kitchen or next to the pc. At the very least have her feed when she knows you can see her.

The only way I can get Ripley out is to open the door and wait till she comes out on her own. Then I would put my arm near and eventually she will walk on it.
or you can trick her with wax/mealworms. Put one on your palm and when she takes it, show her another one and put it on your shoulder. I had to do it a couple of times to get her used to me
