How resilient are Jackson's Chameleons?

Today my female jackson chameleon fell about a foot onto some wood then another 6-8 inchers to the bottom of the cage. She seemed to be ok but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if chameleons tolerate falls like that well.

Chameleons are built to fall, don't worry. My first chameleon climbed onto my back then jumped onto the hard tile floor..he was fine.

Because she hit something mid fall you should keep an eye on her. She might have some bruising (perfectly normal) but if she has difficulties, you'll want to get her to a vet and report what happened. I sincerely doubt it will be an issue.

Mine took a fall from the top of his 2'x2'x4' last week. I was pretty scared when it happened but he is doing just fine.. I wouldn't worry unless she starts acting weird or looks injured.

mys broke her rips =/ 6 rips everyone said she was going to die but alot of care & calcium helped her out a lot, if i was you i would keep an eye on her n the way she breaths . i hope this help wish u the best of luck ur babie looks gorgeous !:D

Thanks for the info

Yeah! I helped her up to a branch and she hung out there for the rest of the day. By the next morning she made her way back to the top to bask. She looks fairly good in her movements too. Thanks for the comments. I'ts a relief to know from others who have been there.

I think most of us have had scary fall things happen...in my case, it was made worse by the fact that both my dogs were there so they were really intrigued with the new thing that was climbing on, then falling off Mommy's back...

I'm so glad this thread has come up cos I am constantly worrying in case my Cham falls and hurts himself! Thanks everyone!!!!
