i got a 5-7 month old cham and im wondering every how long does this guy at that age shed?

any ideas????

Are you asking how long it takes to complete a shed, or how often it will shed?

really its not something easily answered. How frequently it will shed will depend on how fast it is growing. some grow faster than others. Depends on species, gendre, age, what it is fed, what the temps are, etc.

It will shed when it needs to.

Each chameleon has its individual characteristics, mainly deriving from how it is kept.

How often he sheds depends on a lot of things.

Do you gut load?

Whats the fat content on his diet?

Are you using proper temperatures and lighting?

all this plays a key role in the development in the animal.

Gut loading will provide nutrients and the fat provides raw calories that are converted to energy for the bodies main functions - one of which is growing. Proper temperatures means his metabolism will stay fairly high and his body will function at peak.

at 6 months of age, the animal is nearing maturity (usually) and is exiting that growing stage, because of this he will shed less often.

But again... its based off a lot of things. So no one here will really be able to give you a definitive answer.

i see.... thanks

incase youre wondering....male blue bar ambilobe panther. about 6 months old

like others have said...they will do it when it is needed.

with that said, your guy should be shedding about once every two months or so for the next few months.
my guy is having his first partial shed right now and he is 11 months old.
normaly, he has shed everything in a day...don't look like it this time. just tail and back feet.

I'm sure your guy will be slowing down on shedding too soon.
but I'm sure he'll just do it when he feels the need.
