As long as he is eating/drinking as normal, without any stuck sheds, I think it is completely normal. Now that he has hit adulthood, the sheds lower in frequency and he probably won't shed his whole body any more. Does he have any white skin anywhere on his body right now?
How confident are you that his age is 8 months? Typically, their shedding frequency decreases more around the 10-12 month range in my experience. Each cham is different, though!
Thank you so Much for taking the time to answer No visible white anywhere on his body. And I honestly am not 100% sure of his age. When I got him around two months ago the guy that sold him to me said he was around six months old. He wasn’t the original breeder though.. he gets his chams shipped from Europe (or so he said).
Someone on the forum also suggested he’s probably around 8months old right now. Here’s a few pics of him so you can get an idea of his size compared to my hand.
Unfortunately, just guessing their age is not accurate. If he is doing all of his normal habits and such, I would say he is fine. Make sure he is always properly misted and that he never stops eating or drinking. Personally, I got my chameleon from a bad source and she turned out to be a bit of a runt, and she is still technically not sexually mature (I have had her since Feb 2016 ) Nonetheless, she is healthy and eats/drink normally. She sheds every few weeks/months, and she is very active. Every chameleon is different. Another example, my cham didn't shed so much when she was younger because her growth was delayed. Now, she sheds more regularly than she did when she was a baby. This isn't technically the 'norm', but it is her norm.
If your cham starts showing signs of illness, or if you are worried, then I would take him to the vet for a checkup. Just to be sure that he is in ship-shape!
Go figure... I wake up today and guess who's starting to shed!
Just a few cracked little white corners on his limbs and a white little face so far Last time he shed, I saw him like this around 8am and when I got back from work at 5 he was fully done! Hopefully it all goes well again!
