how much is too much?

So my guy has developed a raging apetite & whilst I'm certainly not complaining, I was just wondering how much is too much?

He's a veiled, 4 months old. Today I hand-fed him 9 tiny baby crickets and 5 small locusts. I also saw him nab a couple of escapees, so I guess he's had 16 prey items today. I think he's fishing for more, can I give him some?

Young chams will eat ALOT sometimes. But as they get older they will eat less. Your feeding him enough right now, dont worry

if hes four months old and hes eatint those tiny crickets.. thats not enough!

he can eat as much as he wants, and you can upgrade his bug size too.

at 4 months, they can eat smalls and mediums.. let him eat as many as he wants!

my chameleon is 8 months old and eats bout 2 locust big oness..
and 3 to 5 crickets ... the only thing he always eats are
waxmoth larvs he real loves them but heared they are kinda fat
other worms he dislikes

wow, really? the medium crickets look bigger than his head! I was worried he would choke on them, but if he can handle them I'll get some. He's just munched his way through another 5 small locusts, & he certainly handled them better than he did a month ago.

Um, he's too skinny, right? :(

He's a little scrawny.. his eyes look great and his color tone! U could include some wax worms daily (just one or two) that will aid in thickening him up.. is that a veiled? Kinds looks Like a senegal in that pic.. I'm also an identifying disaster lol..

Yea, he's a veiled, at least that's what the pet shop told me!

Poor little guy, when I hold him he puffs up so I didn't realise. He gets all the grub he wants from today onward.
I've got some wax worms but he won't touch them, he seems a bit scared of them, but I'll try one again tomorrow.

Hehe hunger strikes. I remember when I as first introducing my veiled to butter worms he was like WTF mate these don't look good. He seems to prefer darker colored feeders.

ye wax worms are great chams realy love them atleast
my one does.. i just maked a mistake that i fed them every day like 4 to 5
so hes kinda lazy.. quited them now for the last week
:p guess that was my starters fault

Well hell be hooked now;) lol don't feed him too many or that will be all he wants and hell sure be a lazy fatty. My female veiled easily eats over 20 feeders a day crickets, roaches, phoenix worms, silk worms and wax worms all varied daily at 5 months and she's just now starting to get some tone in her limbs. I was afraid of her getting an upset stomach which I don't know if possible.

That's interesting, I never thought about them getting upset stomachs. I'm gonna try him on mario worms when he's bigger, the ones they sell at the pet shop are enormous! & maybe some silk worms too.

How do you gutload wax worms? mine are just sitting in the pot I bought them in.

I wouls like to know if they could, of course we do give them a goos diet ha. I've never tried morio worms tho. Wax worms I have them in wheat bran honey and glycerine mixture. I think its just easier/cheaper to leave them in the wood shavings( that's what mine come in) and keep them in the dark.. they're a treat not supposed to really be healthy and I probably wont be feeding them off when my cham gets older. There are many videos on YouTube for feeder care btw :)
