so i picked my Jackson up on Monday the 12th. he ate a superworm right out my hand that day but did not want anymore. tonight (May 16th) he finally ate again. cup fed him an adult cricket, and hand fed him a superworm. yeah i know, im lucky to be able to feed him like this already. :p (both gutloaded) but he seems to not want anymore.

is this a normal amount for Rex to eat?

He is 8-10 months old. view my pics if you need to see his size.

Thanks again guys!!:D

By picked up do you mean you just got him?
If you just got him even if he ate the first day it's likely he hasn't settled in. I recently moved all of my chameleons to a different room and upgraded my two girls cages - the flapneck didn't seem to even notice the bigger cage- the Jackson was fine the day I moved her in and then cranky for a week-
My jackson eats 6 or 8 crickets or so every other day and on her off days I'll give her a cricket or two to hunt - or a treat of a silkworm or phoenix or maybe a couple of flies. If I have silks I'll give her 8 to 10- on a feeding day-
and hand feed her 1 or 2 on the days between-
When she was younger she was a pain because she would be very picky about what she would eat- she would turn her nose up at crickets one day and be happy with a wax worm - or be happy with crickets and turn her nose up at silks-

My male jax doesnt eat very much, he will be 2 years old on the 30th of this month. He will eat maybe 6 or so 1/2'' cricks, or one good size roach every other day, or in the winter, maybe only 3 times a week.
He will not eat more then that even when its offered.

He just needs time to settle in. Smaller size feeders will make giving a variety of feeders more obtainable. If hes eating large everything he will get full faster. I offer small feeders a couple times a day. 8-10 1/2 inch crickets in the morning, then 1-3 wormy treats around noon to four. Anything not eaten by 5 I take out of the cage. I'd worry more about his urates at this time. You want to make sure he is staying hydrated. Keep in mind that just because you do not see him drink, doesn't mean he is not drinking. Best way to know whether or not he is drinking is by looking at his urates or pee. It will be the white part of his poop. Orangish color, or lack of urate on his fecal matter would indicate dehydration. A nice white urate means he is hydrated. If you do not see a urate on the cage bottom where his poop is, check the leaves above the poop. Sometime is will stick to them and the poop will not. :)

My Jackson is 3 years old and eats about 2-3 bugs every other day. He might eat a roach and a snail or 2-3 small roaches. A roach and a worm etc. He won't really eat more than 2-3 items every other day or every 3rd day in some cases.

Thanks for all your great answers guys! yeah i know for a fact he drinks. like i said in a previouse post, i have a dripper that drips off a leaf, and the other off a small hose. he loves drinking from the hose. i have seen some of his poop, i seen the white in it also. by the way... he seems to poop in 1 area of the cage from what i've noticed sofar. do they normally keep it in 1 area, or do they usually poop all over the enclosure? i will be cleaning his cage out soon.

just wanted to ask how much your Jackson's are eating, cause mine dont seem to eat too much. i will wait till sunday, when i can spend more time at home.

Thanks again!
