How long will I have to wait?

Hey guys I put my deposit down 2 weeks ago on a baby 2 1/2 week old nosy be, which would make it 4 1/2 weeks old now!
How long do you reckon before I x's take him?

Most peopple wont sell babies until they are at least 3 months old.
sometmes older for the less hardier species.

Probably not no.
If the seller tries to give him to you younger than that, take a good hard look at their reputation.

I have eggs incubating, and i would never release a baby into someone elses care before 3 months old. even if i wasnt shipping them.

I rang them today for an update and although he is eating loads they say he hasn't gotten bigger which is a bummer

He won't do - they don't grow as fast as Veileds. I remember when I collected Zippy from PRAS the Panther babies they were selling were the same size as Zippy, maybe just a smidge bigger. Any good, reliable breeder will not let them go before 3 months to get them establish and be eating, pooping and shedding really well. Also, 3 months is usually the age when any that are not doing so well become obvious and those that are too weak to survive haven't.

I purchased 2 baby ambilobes when they were just a month old and before I know what I know now. The price was right but there were some anxious moments along the way. Luckily they both survived and it's been a year last month. It was fun watching them grow from such a early stage, but I wouldn't do it again. I also have some Nosy Be eggs incubating, they won't leave home till 3 months after they hatch.

Hope you have good luck with it. Here's a picture of what the male has turned into. This was taken this past weekend.
