Interesting, it's been twice now and I'll see if it continues. My worry would be that she has more (!) to lay and may be trying to dig again. She just isn't digging down so I find it hard to believe it's that. I'll keep an eye out!
Yup...with veileds I can stop the reproduction completely and turn it back on later if I want to breed her. I started doing it in the early 90's. The females almost always live longer than 7 years if shut down.
With panthers I never pushed it to the point where it stopped...just to get smaller clutches.
