how long do veilds live for?

Hello I have a 3.5 month male veiled and was wondering how long do they usually live for. I have this book that says they can live up to 5-8 years, but have also read somwhere that they live only like 3-4 years? thanks in advance

The average age is about 5-6 yrs . The oldest one I know of is 13 years and that is extremely rare. If you have one live 8 yrs or more that is considered very old. However, they do die sooner than 5 or 6 yrs. Chameleons are prone to lots of illnesses that can shorten their lifespan. You have a male so you don't have to worry about egg laying, or egg binding.
