How Long do they live?

I have gotten mixed answers on how long Chameleons live and I understand it depends on the species of Chameleon but since I have a veil am curious if well taken care of how long will they live? Also in the far future I would love to own a Panther of some sort and about how long do they live? Thanks

The longest I have ever seen a Veild live on here was 9 years. My Panther breeder also had a cham live for 9 years also.That was her oldest The average she said was about 5-6 years. That I guess is considered old!!!

My veiled females usually live to be over 6 years of age...often 7 and the males live to be even older.

This was just kind of amusing, thought I would share...the idiot at the pet store I order crickets from was kind enough to enlighten me that veild's in captivity live only and I quote "a year and half max"...surprisingly he was very serious and straight faced as he proceeded to tell that this was due to all screen cages and that I should really invest in an Exoterra. To which I replied that they werent big enough for an adult (at least the ones they have) and he reassured me that someone he knows has an adult veiled in an Exoterra, which by the dimensions he gave me, is about the size of my baby cage! lol All I could do was shake my head!

When you ask my cham vet this question he says anywhere from seven days to seven years depending on how you take care of them.
