I saw this after seeing people recommend LLL Reptile. How good of a package is this?

I see that I will have to get a different thermometer. I use the standard digital reptile thermometer, the kind with a digital read-out connected to a wired remote probe. will these work for a chameleon enclosure or are there others that do better at reading humidity as well?

Also is that blue basking light neccessary? I use a standard indoor floodlight for my beardy.

One more thing, how well would this enclosure handle escaping water from a drip system and misters?

Sorry for all the questions i'm trying to hit as many birds as I can with one stone.

Unless you purchase a liner, this cage will not hold water at all. It will just pour onto whatever you set it on. I have a reptarium and the liners hold water great.

This is not a complete kit, you will need to add to it.

can I get a link to a reptarium enclosure retailer? I found their site but couldn't find any retailer information without contacting them.

thanks

That is not a good starter kit....

The Reptiglo lamps aren't very good... but they work... he Reptarium cage is ok..... but not great and the thermemter is for a glass tank.... the fixture for the UVb lamp will flicker when turning on... you don't want to use the blue lights, just a normal household lamp....

as for the dripper... this can't will just drop the ater on whatever is below the cage. they sell a plastic liner for the bottom... but these cages aren't that great. They block a lot of UVB and can be hard to clean. They are OK for starters.... but might be worth buying all the right stuff the first time.

Adult cage

UVB lamp

Heat lamp fixture

Heat lamps (can use household floods or spots, don't need a TON of wattage)

Night time heater (If you have coooold temps in winter, don't use red heat lamps for night time heating)

Read Brad Ramsey's site

Read this site for UV info

If i'm getting a baby veiled does it need to be that big? i was thinking about going 18x18x24 or something.

thanks for all the info

2 Gallon Reptarium (13.5" x 13.5" x 25") , Will last you about 2 months.

20" UV Hood, good

18" Fluorescent UVB 5.0 bulb, good

Lamp Fixture, good

Heat Bulb, you need to check wattage for a baby, shouldn't be too hot, they can't thermoregulate

6 Feet Tropical Vines, good..

High Range Thermometer, that thermometer is a piece of crap lol.

Shipping included. okay how nice.

There's my critiquing for you!

That cage is fine while he is small. When he outgrows it, you can use that as an outdoor sunning cage.

How do you think about the Reptarium 100g for a female veileds and the 175g for a male? Are the screen ones that much better for the price? I plan to run a dual 48" repti-sun 5.0 setup across both, as well as heat lights.
