Hi,
So I just got my first veiled chameleon, he's around 4 to five months old. http://yvanajansen.tumblr.com/image/116230176405
he's already handfed, but doesn't eat or try to eat any fruits,... so only things that move.
he sometimes hisses randomly and has been on my hand once (went on by himself) but didn't seem to be finding it fun.
he doesn't seem to want to go out of his cage.
so how do I tame my chameleon?

Well first of all, how long have you had him? You said you just got him so I am assuming a few days? Let him settle in for a good couple of weeks before you try handling him or trying to take him out of the cage. If you open the door and he wants to come out then that is a different story. Handfeeding is good so he knows you are there not to harm him. You can always open the door and then put a large, tall potted plant infront of the cage. See if he will venture out on that. Often times they are much calmer and less territorial when out of their cages. What I do at first after they have settled in, is use a branch and stick the branch in the cage and have them climb onto that. Then I sit with the branch on my lap and just let him/her check you out. Over time, he should gain your trust, but it does takes time. They are funny little creatures and don't take to change easily, so if he is new in your house just give him his space.
