how could i put up vines in my cage without bending any of the mesh screen cosed by tying the vines or other things onto it? is there any way:confused: also would the cage be okay by a window that i can open up and let in some sun through? i also have a leopard gecko in an aquarium by my chameleons cage, should i just stick a piece of cardboard imbetween them so it doesnt stress the chameleon out?

What sort of vines do you have? I use push pins, just make sure that there are no push pins in the enclosure, only on the outside going into the vine. If your chameleon is showing no sign of stress you don't need to put a divider between them, you can just to be safe.

thanks, i have thought of that, the mesh screen isint that strong but hopefully it would work and not break any of them if say an adult chameleon climbed onto it

i dont have 1 yet but i hear they can get stressed if they see any other kind of lizards around and i dont want him to be spooked by my leo when hes running around at night, and im going to buy some bindy vines but at the moment i just have some decrative vines that a chameleon would be able to crawl on when little but not when they get bigger i dont think

A piece of cardboard works. I use a towel to cover my girl at night - keeps the heat in and prevents her from seeing my cat walking around, doing whatever it is cats try to do at night that results in the kitchen knives being strewn all over the floor....but I digress.

I bought some jewelry wire - you can get it at craft stores for mere dollars. I got it coated, too, so it doesn't rust from the humidity. I just wrap it around the vine and it's thin enough to get through the holes. Also works great for setting up a wire across a door frame and pranking your roommates when they come home drunk and watching them all trip and fall over each other.

scratch that i guess it would be possible for an almost adult size chameleon to be able to climb on it but in enjoyingly i wouldnt think

I love you.

I have bio vines, you can bend those in any way possible and the chameleons have a good grip on them plus they are easy to use, wash, and set up. I have an adult cham and have no problems but I also have three of these vines with two huge plants.

lol i was also thinking about the towel optioin becouse -this may be hard to explain- i live in a small room that was built into my grandmas house after i moved in and the room is just a corner of 1 living room with 2 other walls built around it to make a box but the walls that were built in dont go all the way up to the roof so that i can get ventalation, well my cat jumps onto a bookshelf outside my room and walks across the top of the walls, jumps onto my dresser and then jumps onto my bed to sleep with me at night, EVAN IF THE STINKEN DOOR IS OPEN! idk what to do with her. and wow haha sounds like a fun idea to trip ur drunk buddies xD

ill look into them then, thanks! :)

They are around $10, sometimes under. Petsmart has them, some of them have different textures so you can choose what you like. They also don't get slippery!

With the vines, you could buy a bag of zip ties and zip the vines to the screen and cut off the remainder. Or you could do what I did and literally jam the vines through the mesh. Leaves small holes and ruins that bit of mesh, but holds very well lol.
I wouldn't put em next to the window unless you plan on keeping the blinds closed. The window will block out important light and strengthen the bad kind :(. Also can increase the heat of the cage a bit.
I'm not sure how bad it is for ur cham to see ur leo. My male panther is next to my gargoyle gecko's cage and they never really pay attention to each other. I do have a towel draped between my male and my female's cages tho, and that works excellent.

I have a Reptibreeze XL and I use garden wire (with plastic coating).

It fits through the small holes in the mesh and I just twist on the outside to secure/tighten it.

Works perfect for me. No breakage in the mesh

i use the same method.. i dont know if mine is for garden stuff but it is for floral stuff.

you could even use twist ties from garbage bags/ sandwich bags and whathaveya.

well i would have the blinds closed unless i actually had the window open so he could have direct sun at times and it wouldnt affect the temperature much at all depending on the time of the year of corse, and iv wanted to try the small bendable wire things that are kept at the grociery store to tie a bag of fruits or vegies together because i dont know how i want the cage to look yet so im going to be re arranging it a few times so i really dont want holes all over the place o-o nd okay iill just have to see how the chameleon would act growing up around my leo when i get 1

oh ok, cool :) As long as the window is open thats great for em. Some people leave em next to the window in a glass cage and ask why their cham isn't doing well and responders put their rage faces on. Just gotta experiment with everything. It sounds dangerous to just guess and have something negative happen, but that's how books on chams get written :p.

haha yep, i dont want any negatives happening 1ns i get a cham so im doing my best to make his home and life as happy and healthy as i can but theres alwase going to be bumps in the road, and i dont see how people can evan keep a cham in an aquarium, its just not right they need air flow and open space, i alwase feel bad for little guys at pet stores ):
