How can I get my chameleon to recognize his food bowl?

I just got my first chameleon (veiled) and he hasn't been eating I assume he's just not hungry but I still want to familiarize him with his food dish. Any ideas?

Update: I put a few crickets on the ledge (dead) and he ate them all. Is that normal? (Still up for suggestions about food dish)

Ugh no dead crickets!!! I had the same problem with my cam and I just kept at it.. when he gets hungry trust me they will eat out of it.. I attached mine to the side of the cage with wire.. here's a pic

He probably has no idea what the dish is intended for. Remember, only humans use dishes/bowls/plates/etc. Chams eat live bugs crawling around on trees, plants, and the ground. Just shale them into his cage, and let him hunt.

Yup that works too. I let my cham free hunt for crickets and the dish is used for superworms
