Just wondering if I stood this sideways if it would work. It has air vents and I can replace the top/door with a full screen. Reason I ask is that someone offered it to me before they try and sell it.

For raising a colony of mice or hamsters....Sure!

For cooking a chameleon it could work for that too!


A screen cage is what you need, or screened on 3 sides at the least.

if you can change at least 2 sides with screens and tip it vertically, i think it could work.
How big is the size of the cage?

It is 37"Lx17"Hx15"W. Unfortunately, it will not stand up on the side so will go another way.

What are the dimensions?
If the top and at least the front or one side is screen or ventilated, it might work.
