do you guys think that there is any way i could keep some photos, ficus and hybiscus alive through the winter months in my garage?
what if i had them under a heat lamp and maybe some type of a plant bulb/grow light?
i know they'd have a better chance inside but i'm not sure that's going to happen...

any thoughts???
thanks,, lisa

My father brings in a few plants over the winter. They spend time down in the basement with very little care, and do pretty well. It gets to almost freezing down there from time to time and we keep things like mandevillas down there.

I would say that with those plants being so tropical that you should probably bring them in, but if you try to keep your garage at about 40-45 at least, I would say you should be ok. You will probably see some die back, but nothing drastic.
