How do you guys go about cleaning your dubia housing? Also, has anyone tried keeping them in a Cricket Keeper?
I use dermistid (skin beetles) & meal worms to clean my roach colony. I use a Rubbermaid tote to house them.

Mealworm beetles won't kill dubia will they? I got acouple pupating and I don't want to breed them just want them to clean up for me.
So where's everybody getting their dubias from?? I ordered my 1st batch from smallpetfeeders for pretty cheap, but since they're located in ATL and I'm in Cali, the price isn't as great as it could've been. I need about 100 (1/4'' - 1/2'') of them for a good rate
get a good sized rubbermaid container. poke a bunch of small air holes in it with like a heated up pin. on the inside of the container, toward the top pf the sides put packaging tape. the babies cannot grip that. i have not had one escape from this method and i've been breeding them for 2 years.
AKA; carpet beetles.
I always find several of them when I order bulk cricks from Ghann's
So it's good to keep them around? They always kinda freaked me out.

That is exactly how I did my crickets pens, I have 2 for each type of insect. I am going to be doing a matching set of smaller ones for the roaches.I use a 18 gallon sterilite bin, i cut most of the top of the lid and then hot glue aluminum screen to the lid. I have only had a couple of escapes due to too many male in one bin. I think they got territtorial or the female:male ratio was wrong or something and a small gap in the screen. Anyway once i fix the seperated the feeders from the breeders the escapes dropped to 0just make sure you have a lid with no gaps and you sould be fine. If you are really worried put some petroleum jelly along the top sides on the inner bin, i find ths works better then tape. Yeah, here are some pictures of my feeder bin with over a Thousand roaches
If you have any questions about my set up just ask.
