housing 2 males together??

i have a male ambilobe living alone in a 4foot enclosure 24x24x48 would you think it would be ok to have 2 males together in such a big enclousure? im just wondering opinions thx

very bad idea....2'x2'x4' is the standard size for 1 male. if you want to house them together your enclosure should realistically be at LEAST double that size (and then some) with extreme amount of leaf cover.

even if they dont kill eachother they WILL stress eachother out most likley in ways that we wont necessarily be able to see, but the impacts will be present on the animal.....thats a best case scenario

Bad idea, the worst i've seen was i called into this reptile shop and this guy had two female yemens together one was around 7months old and the other was like 3months old. I just said to my mum how stupid that was and the bigger one would likely eat the smaller one or least do some harm as i said that the 7month old grabbed the little one by her leg. :( I told the guy and he did remove her whether that was just for me i don't know cause i've not been back. The poor chams leg went black right away. :(

I have 2 year old males living in a 4'x 6'x7' foot enclosure with lots of biovine and plants and they get along famously.

I have 2 4x2x2 cages in one room, one with my Ambilobe and one with my Nosy Be. One day the curtain blocking their view of one another fell down and they were clawing at the cage walls and hissing at one another looking like they wanted to do some serious fighting. They were 12 feet apart in separate cages.

i went to the san diego expo this year and i went to the LLL reptile table they had 2 panthers togther i think they thought they would get along but i caught one of them trying to chew his friends arm off and the other panther screaming in pain i told the guys that worked there and they changed them really quick but put him with another cham i just wanted to hear eveyones thoughts thx and to LLL keep a close watch on all your reptiles...poor guy had a bad injurie from that hope hes doing alright.

Just because they have to house multiples together at a show doesn't mean that they do so otherwise. At a show the vendors have limited space so they must put animals in a smaller container/enclosure to get everything they want to on the table. Since chameleons dont generally do so well in plastic containers, they keep them in the screen cages until they are purchased.
