House gecko

To prevent the escape of my feeder insects, as well as prevent wild insects from getting in and bothering them , I use moats of diatomaceous earth, which I’ve been quite liberal with. Well, yesterday I found a strange blob in one of the moats…it was a little house gecko. Poor thing. I was shocked that it was still alive, so quickly gave it a few thorough rinses (and then a few more) to get all the stuff off. Then off to a little rehab bin to recover. Within a few hours it was quite perky so once it got dark out, I released it. Cute little guy/gal and it was tempting to keep it, but I just can’t steal its freedom like that. I love seeing these little cuties as they wriggle-run up the house by my security light and maybe will see him/her again.
Very hard to get any pics once it had perked up.
