Hornworms and silkworm chow

Yes you can. On Mulberryfarm's website it states that you can use the silkworm chow to feed hornworms, too.

Actually, this is not entirely true. If you purchase eggs, the newly hatched worms will not grow on the silkworm food. You need to start the worms on a hornworm chow, then you can switch over to silkworm food after a few days.

I have never had good luck trying to feed hornworm with silk worm chow. they never seem to eat it much for me. I stick with hornworm chow and veggies.

Yep. I personally avoid silkworm chow as much as possible. I have used it a couple times, for larger worms, when I ran out of hornworm chow. My first experience purchasing hornworm eggs, I lost all 500 worms because I tried to grow them on silkworm chow.

Oooh, good to know. On the Mulberryfarm website it said it was good for both silks and horns. I'm glad you guys corrected me. I would've felt like crap if the OP lost their worms because of my post.

I used silkworm chow for my hornworms when the hornworm food ran out of the cup and one died and the other few went into the pupae state early.
