Their enclosure is 30" tall, 10" x 10" with a tall limb and fake hanging vines. the pupals are in a small container inside the enclosure in dirt that I mist a few times a week. The hatch out and just flutter in the dirt for awhile and then climb out. Their wings are also pretty stiff but still flutter.

Depends on what kind of cham and how old it is. Their legs are pretty prickley. I cut the wings off one since they were so stiff and my adult panther just looked at it. I wouldn't try it again though because of the legs. You'll see when it hatches.

My chameleons go nuts for those moths. The only thing is it took mine 3+ months to emerge after pupation. I had 3 males and 5 females the time they actually did breed. They produces tons and tons of eggs if the do breed. Of the 4 times I had them emerge I've gotten eggs once because all the other times the moths all emerged weeks apart and didn't have a member of the opposite sex to breed with. My chameleons enjoyed eating them though.

how do you tell the male from the female? What type of enclosure and host plants did you have? Can you tell me anything about the wings on mine that hatched out?

Depends on what temp you have them at, 85-90 is good. Mine took about 4wks or so.

Okay, so their hatching out at different times and I finally have two at the same time. They don't look right to me and hopefully a bug expert can tell me what I'm doing wrong. They can't fly and their wings look deformed. I thought they where suppose to be bigger than 2".

Any bug experts out there?

They need to be able to climb away from the dirt and fill their wings. This has to be done RIGHT after emerging while the wings are still soft. Give them some screen to climb out of the dirt with and you'll find some in the morning with their full wings.

I had a few end up that way because I didn't move them from their dirt cage to a screen cage.

I usually dig them up at around 3 weeks, and put them in the bottom of a screen cage inside moist paper towels (spray twice a day to keep moist). They usually all emerge within a week or so of each other.

I don't even bother feeding them.
