Hornworm Dilemma!

Our cham has a big problem...cause these hornworms look so damn beautiful and juicy but man are they sticky little suckers!!! It is so funny to watch Bob (our cham) dying to eat this yummy worm right in front of him, but when he throws out his tongue to get him he can't quite take it away cause the hornworm seems to be glued to the branch..lol!! It takes him a few tries before he finally succeeds and in between he looks so frustrated trying to figure out how to get this thing in his mouth. But hey in the end all the work pays off when he finally chows down on his big, juicy treat! :D

Just thought I'd share...

I either hand feed or put hornworms in a shallow bowl for my guys. It makes it eaiser for them and I don't want to take any chance on them hurting their tongue.

We put them on the mesh of the cage now so it makes it easier for him, we just fed him for the first time hornworms and we had no idea they were so sticky! Lesson learned...;)

I like hornworms, so does my cham. Still they have nothing on supers but I am excited he is eating a variety. I actually never had this problem yet, I think it would be pretty funny to see. I doubt Samson has ever shot his tongue out and not brought anything back with it. Handfeeding ftw!
