Homemade Enclosure!

Hey everyone! My name's Moses and I'm new. I did a lot of reading from Cham Forums before going through with my decision to buy one. Everyone on this site is so helpful and informative. After a few weekends, I finished the vivarium and was able to order Chameron, my male OB BB Ambilobe. The first few weeks I had him, I kept all of the climbing range relatively simple (like you'll see in the pics), so I could keep a better eye on him. Now that he's about 5 months old, much bigger and very active, I have added more vines and plants to his home. Because the enclosure is large, he is cup feeding from a wall attachment I have suctioned onto the back wall. He is able to find his food with no problem. Please let me know what you think. I am definitely ready to hear what suggestions/questions everyone has. Thanks!!

Moses

ps, I have some other, more detailed pics that I would have included, but the forum uploader said I reached my limit of 5 attachments. Idk how to do this yet lol. So let me know if you want to see a pic of something in particular. i'll def include some of Chameron

I would be concerned about if the cham fell and accidently fell in the tank of water. I would remove it it isnt needed:D

Hello, and welcome :) -things like this are always a work in progress, esp. when your Cham is young and growing so fast. I think you mean you have more plants and vines already, so that's good. It looks very promising, but what are you keeping in the water? At least make sure there is screen/mesh over it, even if there is a way out your Cham can easily drown if he falls in.

What is the 10g tank at the bottom there for? Are you using that for drainage? If there is any sort of standing water in the enclosure it can cause bacterial growth and can cause harm to your chameleon.

Also, it needs a lot more foilage and vines, chameleons like to be in a dense jungle type of enviorment to feel secure. You should add a few more pothos, and maybe a schleffera or ficus for a tree.

Because i'm on a busy schedule with class and work, i have the little dripper on constantly throughout the day so that he doesn't have to wait for me to get home for a drink. I knew that if i did this, there would be a big puddle of sitting water at the bottom of his cage, so i decided to have it drip off of the leaves, and into the fish tank below. The fish tank has a screen over it so that nothing can get through, except the water of course. I have submersible filter inside. I couldn't help but put some fish in there and make the tank even more useful. I figured since Ambilobe panthers are from Africa, why not put some African Cichlids in there :)

i definitely agree. i'm going to get a hanging pot pothos in there. I'm thinking i want to do a ficus as well for variety, how big do the ficus get?

awesome start to a beautiful cage, i would put some decent size Cham safe Umbrella Trees in there, they grown rather large and full and the limbs can be manipulated to grown around certain things, plus the stems are nice and sturdy for safe habitat, the ten gallon tank should go bye bye. Im no expert but my cham certainly loves his two umbrella trees and a smaller palm, the palms are expensive but add a great feel to a larger enclosure, and the umbrella trees are good in heat and grow rather tall and full, mine are about 4/12 ft and the palm is ruffly 5 ft. I just used jungle vine to create several different pathways, and i hang his feeder bucket in the middle on the edge of the umbrella tree for awesome access.

As the OP said, their is a screen over the top of the 10 gallonwater tank. The cham cannot fall in it, or reach the water in any way.
