Home for the holiday

So I am a college student that is having to travel with my chameleon home so she can be taken are of. I just finished the hour and a half drive home and will be going back to college on Saturday. I tried putting my baby veiled in a closed box sealed from the light with everything she needed to travel (perch, heating packs etc.) she was well fed and taken care of before I hit the road. The goal was to have her sleep however that did not happen. I could hear her moving around the whole time.

When I arrived and opened the box to put her back in her home she was showing all her angry colors and was puffed up. I could tell she hated the drive :(. I feel like a terrible parent. Any ideas on making the drive back a little better for her?

When I take my chams to the vet I use a small screen cage with a plant in it with a few branches and vines. They seem to enjoy the ride and are able to look around. I know of course, this would be an added expense for you but it is just an idea and what I do that seems to work.

I'm willing to go the extra mile and expense to make her comfortable if need be. Maybe I can score a deal on a small enclosure on Black Friday before I go back.

It is just a suggestion and what seems to work for me. I hope it will work for you too!! Enjoy your holiday home!!!
