holy crap! what a bill

Wow. Just amazed that you all pay for AC to keep your homes so cold! I cant wait for summer so my home is warm and I dont have to pay to heat it! LOL I wish I could afford to heat it to 78/80F all the time. What a joy that would be. I like it warm, and really so do the chameleons. If you're keeping vieleds or panthers, no reason that the house has to be 75F all day all summer. Turn on a fan in their room. Turn the AC to 79/80F during the day, block off ALL rooms of the house that dont need to be cooled, lower the wattage on the basking bulbs. Im assuming the heat drops a bit at night, if not then a little more AC might be necessary. Perhaps you could have a unit only in their room. You can dress appropriately and enjoy the warmth in the rest of the home? :)

it isn't as fun and toasty when it gets to 110 F inside the house during summer.
With no AC around, I probably will gape with the rest of my chams to cool down :p.
Actually, I am quite amazed how cold the weather lately in here.
I know this is a wishful thinking, but I wish it would stay like this for the rest of summer.

110F might be a little much even for me. I like 32C/90F though. But Im lucky if we get 80F outside in the sun on a warm summers day though. Today is a nice day, but only 18C right now, and that's just the mid 60sF.

Im sure allowing Even a few degrees higher will reduce the AC bill. I save quite a bit on heating (which is electric) by just reducing my heat a few degrees.

Have you considered a heat pump? Both for heating and cooling?

Yes, I usually put 80F on the thermostats.
I tolerate heat more than I would like to admit.
I was born and raised in one of the hottest and most humid place on earth before I move to US.
But, I just adore cold climates :D

Maybe you should come vacation at my house while I vacation at yours! LOL Whats January or February like where you are? Im so sick and tired of the cold by then. You could come to the island, do a little golfing or hiking in Victoria area in the rain, followed by a little downhill skiing at the local mountain, then back to Victoria for the flower count.
