I have a hibiscus tree in my male cage and a bush in my female cage,
. Both get proper attention. Tree is thriving...bush is dying...is it a seasonal thing? Can anyone add color to this situation please?
Hi the hibiscus bush is probably dying because of the lack of real sunlight, and the same will happen to the tree if you do not get it real sunlight the reason the bush is dying first is because the trees are a lot hardier. You can keep both alive by using two trees one is outside while the other is inside the cage and then keep on switching them but i would only reccomend doing this in the summer (or whenever it gets wamer whatever is first)
It gets UVB rays from the lamp and real sunlight though? The tree gets no light and is flourishing. I googled the problem and it states the bushes will lose the leaves and as long as they have heat and light they will grow back in the spring.
Plus I live in Indiana I can't keep tropical plants outdoors lol there's a foot of snow on the ground
I believe they are the same plant but are trimmed to be a tree or bush. I could be wrong but thats what i always thought ;/
Do they have the same type of soil? I plants mine with sand around the soil they come in and keep it moist. A 6500k and the typical linear uvb keeps them alive for the winter months.
Perlite and vermiculite are basically an additive to help soil either A. Breath a little better or B. Hold moisture.
If the hibiscus is not completely bare. I would suggest replanting using the soil you have and adding sand around the soil. Sand drains well and hold moisture well.
