Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, but it has so many great threads and so much information I couldn't not join!

I don't have a Cham myself (yet, if my persuading wins out over my brother - co house owner), but I'm so into them. I'd like (eventually) a Veiled/Yemen or Panther Chameleon. I've read LOADS, looked at loads of info/photos/videos etc.. and have to say they facinate me!

My brother and I have a Bearded Dragon at present which we love. They make for a great lizard to keep and handle, but I love the thought of a Cham too, to watch rather than handle (I have the Beardie for that lol).

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Cheers,
Fal

Welcome! Soon you will be addicted to this site! Also if you convince your brother this is a great place to purchase any type of cham!!

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!

Your profile pictures make me so jealous! I've done so much research on this forum and all over the net, and it makes me want one so much more!

I had already read to get a male, as the females would want to lay their eggs on their first ovulation, which can cause problems I know I wouldn't want (too much stress)!

As for a viv/terr, I would want a screen terrarium, it's such a shame we struggle to get them over the pond here in the UK, but I'm sure I'd be able to ship one, I've been looking already!

As for the Cham itself, I really like the Panthers, I also like the Yemens/Veilds and I beleive they are the two best species for beginners, is that right?

It's just tough regarding room in the house. The dining rooms' being decorated (almost done) and our Beardie (Draco) is going in there when it's done, but I wouldn't want a Cham in there for a few reasons (drafts/the beardie/no room with everything else going in there etc...).
The living room I think would be too noisy with TV/Vid games and general people traffic and bedrooms aside, it doesn't really leave anywhere for one.

I did look at dwarf/pigmy Chams, but read they aren't for starters and also... without antagonising anyone, they don't seem to apeal to me the same, as cute as they are.

Damn I wish I had another room lol

Don't forget how lucky you folks are! Especially those who live in warmer climates!

Anyway, essay over, thanks again for the welcome!

Your profile pictures make me so jealous!

People think mine was photoshopped. Just one VERY awesome (non-edited) picture! :D

Yes, Veileds and Panthers are the easiest.... And Jacksons i beleive. They dont lay eggs.

LOOK LOOK LOOK! Screen cages are #1! Even in Britain! (The british say they're country is cold and dry... Come to Canada! And even I use screen!!)
