Do you have photos of it? If its the one i saw online, with a zipper and sleals shut, then no. You're better off just getting the big cage, make sure you get 2x2x4ft at least.

Yeah I'll probably go with the cage, need to save up a little more money. Just for clarification if I used a fan and some ducting to pump fresh air into the tent would it still be bad? I'd make sure there's good air movement. Is there anything else inherently bad with the the grow tent?

There is a podcast about hybrid cages, granted this is totally different than what you are trying to use, but he talks about ventilation. Hopefully you can find some use of it.
