Hemipene while pooping

I was spraying my Jackson chameleon this morning and he did something I have never witnessed, he pooped in front of me. However, as he pooped two red tubers stuck out on either side of the poop; I am confident it was his hemipene. They went back in immediately after the poop (which was very healthy looking).

Is this something to worry about? My panther never has this happen.

Thanks in advance to this wonderful community.

Nothing to worry about at all. Some chams do that almost every time the poop. As long as the retract without problem all is well.

All the new things we have to learn, it never stops does it? Ask questions any time, it is how you learn.:)

Agreed^^^^ totally normal with some chams. I saw some carpet cham junk at the expo while it was pooing LoL

Thank Laurie and Hoj for the prompt reply :) I don't know what I would do without this forum!

It was pretty startling when I first saw it. Definitely looked more than a little uncomfortable!

My veiled does it everytime with no issue. I assume the mucous that surrounds the poop helps lubricate the business back in...
