Well my pet shop finally got some locusts and i decided to go in and buy them for my 3 year old veiled chameleon, he hasnt had locusts since last monday and his diet has consisted of waxworms since then.

Yesterday when i came home i tried him on locusts but he didnt eat them so i gave him some waxworms and he ate them up, on saturday i gave him 6 waxworms so he was only hungry for 2 yesterday.

He's just finished his shedding so thats good and his poops look healthy, its currently 7.08 in ireland and at 10.00pm i switch the lights out and he hasnt eatin today at all!

Please if you can answer my questions

Thanks for looking.

Hello there! Since you've been giving him lots of fatty treats (waxworms) it's possible that he's on a little hunger strike holding out for more! :)

I would stop with the treats for now and just offer him good feeders. He should start eating again but it may take a little while. He won't starve himself though do just persivere is my advice.

My guy loves locusts but he loves super worms more! I have a battle to get him to eat his locusts cos he wants the treats first. Be strict with him, he'll soon decide the locust taste pretty good again.

im pretty sure thats normal, my cham eats when shes hungry. sometimes she wont eat for a couple days i hand feed her because she has a difiency in her tongue and somedays she will eat a load of food and other days she wont eat anything, my guess is your cham just isnt hungry :).
