I have a male panther chameleon, and last week i noticed there was something coming out of his bum, i thought it may just be poop so i left it alone and today i went back to check on him and noticed its still there, and his bum looks really red, Im really worried about him!! I don't think its poop and its dried up..... HELP!

Can you post a picture of it? Until you know for sure what it is try to keep it moist just incase it's a prolapse. Extra misting of it or KY jelly. Could maybe be a sperm plug. If you post a picture on here it would help.

Post a picture when you can, but if it's white it is probably a sperm plug and you can remove those by hand. Maybe give him a nice long mist, see if that helps.

my cham had that. it turned out it was his penis sticking out and it couldn't go back in because puss formed (reptile puss is solid, not liquid) and it prevented the penis from going back in. my vet removed the puss and his penis slipped back in. you should take him in. it cost me next to nothing to fix.

if its a sperm plug i know of people whom have soaked there cham in a luke warm water in a shallow dish for a little while, and then wiped it away to allow everything to go back to its resting spot

New info

okay well when i woke up this morning, his bum was bleeding and there was blood on his sticks, so i took him to the vet this morning, And they think its prolapsed, I am waiting to hear back from the doctor, they were super busy but took him in!

What is prolapsed??

We didn't get to meet the doctor cause he still wanted to check him out... we drop him off early this morning... and they said the doctor would see him in between visit..

A prolapse is when an internal organ is outside the body. In a male, it's most likely a hemi-penis, but it could be his rectum. If the tissue hasn't started to dry up and die, it can be put back in. If it's dried out and dying, that's more serious. In the case of a hemi-penis, it can be amputated without doing much harm to the animal (I believe he could still be bred if that's what you plan for him).
