I ordered a chameleon from Kammerflage Kreations, they sent me an e-mail on Thursday the 8th saying they were going to have him delivered for tomorrow the 14th. I e-mailed them back saying if they could push it a week forward since I'm still waiting for supplies. Now I just checked my e-mail and I'm getting it tomorrow. What do I do? I have nothing and no extra money to spend for supplies I need tomorrow.

Ooohhh this is tough... Id say take him to a vet that knows about chameleons, and let them take care of him until you get your stuff. Ask if they can charge you AFTER, rather than before.

What do you have so far?

beg, borrow or steal,
what kind of cham and how old? as well how long till you can get the stuff needed..

A cage frame, the rest of my cage is coming tomorrow and my light and everything should be here this week, I don't even have food. its a 1-2 month old panther. I keep calling but nothing.

Put the cage together, go outside and get some branches and leaves, etc. Make sure they're clean and non toxic. Take him outside to get a lot of sunlight as well, until his lights come in.

I wish you were in california, I could lend you everything you need, that being said I know there are ny members here. Hopefully they will read this and offer to help.
You could freerange until your supplies come. Weather says you are having decent weather, make sure you get him outside for some sun. A small lamp with a 60 w bulb for warmth. Sorry, talking outloud here!
That's not like Liddy to not doublecheck, she is amazing with their records.
I will keep thinking, but im old, so bear with!!
Check with a local perstore, like a mom/pop for week old crix

Never in my life have I ever had such a bad experience with a business.... I'm livid, I'm sure everything will go fine but I'm so .... pissed

Is there a high school science teacher who keeps reptiles you could enlist for help? Or a local "herp" club?

Lacking that, you're going to be improvising. Keeping him in the shipping container a few extra hours to allow a trip to the store won't be a problem. You should be able to put something together for around $10 that will hold him. You might even be able to keep it for possible emergency evacuation needs.

Lots of stores like Ikea, and Targetsell mesh laundry baskets. You might even be able to find something that will do at a drug store. Your concerns are: ventilation, ability to withstand water, ability to ensure the chameleon doesn't escape, ability to contain feeders (not necessarily in that order).

**edited to add**

Is there a petco or petsmart nearby? They'll have small crickets and worms.

you could keep a young panther in a large rubbermaid bin with a few plants and branches and ventalation of course, for a few days untill you get setup, if dont have a uvb light go outside for a little while each day, make sure you mist him alot, but you will need feeders asap, that lil guy may be hungry, i would find a local store where you can get some little crickets for him..

good news, just got off the phone with fedex and my lights and ect should be here tomorrow or Thursday. There are a few pet stores close by so hopefully i can find something small enough for him to eat and I should be able to rig something up. I'm in panic mode right now but I think I just need to relax, still have no idea why this would happen.

Im glad see you are taking a breath...
The Kammers are one, if the only longest successful breeders in the country. What they have done for the chameleon world is astounding. Their records are impecable.
I am asking if you have an issue, take it up with them in person. You have every right to be flustered, how long after their email with the ship date did you reply? Are you sure they got your reply.
I am speaking my mind as you did, they happen to be friends and my breeder. And one of the original sponsors on this site

Food you shouldn't worry over. Crickets are like 10 for 1.00 and at that age 5.00 feeds him for like a week and a half. Dowel rods are cheap at Lowes. buy 2 and have them cut them. costs about 1.40. Plants in the greenhouse at my lowes were half off. 7.00 gets you a pothos. If they aren't at your's say you were told by someone they were. They rarely argue and just give the discount. A well lit warm area will be ok until you get the rest of your stuff but don't wait too long. Good Luck!

I sent an e-mail the next day by 9am Easter Standard Time on Friday the 9th. Liddy got all my other e-mails and I've tried to call on previous occasions and no one picked up and there was no voice mail, just rang for a few min. That is why I bought my Cham from them, I am shocked this happened. Maybe they missed my e-mail, I was shocked they never called me to try and talk to me in person about it but figured maybe they like communicating through e-mail.

I have an umbrella plant but its basically dead, so I'm going to head over to the grocery store first thing in the morning to pick up a better plant. Looks like I will have to figure something out till I can get a proper setup going.

They might have been at a show. That's a problem for smaller "companies". I know the few times I've seen negative comments about them, it's turned out to be because they were out of the office for a show.

SonTigerPantherCham is right, the recording of genetic lines the Kammers have done is rather astonishing. It's what the chameleon world needs to do.
