I have a blue bar panther chameleon that is aboult a year old and this afternoon he fell out of the tree and is now not using his hind legs. He is still eating and drinking ok. im am woried about him because he is not moving around and our vet is out of town.... any idea on what I can do??

Ours is the only ver that takes exotics in the area.... his legs are not swollen of deformed hes just not using them

Where are you located? Can you take a pc and fill out the how to ask for help form? How far did he fall?

i dont think hes in pain because hes not acting mad and he has no reaction when his legs are touched and the vet will be back friday i just dont know if it is safe to wait that long but hes eating and drinking ok still. I am a new owner this is my second chemeleon and my first one lived almost 6 years

im in a ltittle town about 100 miles out of houston tx i know i can find one in houston i just dont want to put him in the car for the 100 miles and stress him out, he seems ok ut i dont want to wait untill friday unless i no he will be ok

thank you i will most likley take him in tomorrow. Ive been told that once a chameleon get sick or hurt it is hard to bring them back and very often they die... is this true?

That is not always the case. If you see a good vet right away I think his chances are much better that waiting.

Yes sorry pc is pic, I'm on my phone. Darn spelling check! I would drive to Houston to get his legs checked out. Even if it stresses him it is still better to get them checked rather than waiting and let it get worse if he did happen to maybe break them or something. And the how to ask for help form is on the Very top of the health clinic subforum.
